The Healthcare System

The World Health Organization (WHO) defined primary health care as a whole-of-society approach to health and well-being centered on the needs and preferences of individuals, families, and communities. It addresses the broader determinants of health and focuses on the comprehensive and interrelated aspects of physical, mental, and social health and wellbeing.

It shall provide holistic care for the health needs of an individual throughout his/her lifetime and not just focus on specific sets of diseases. It was further addressed by WHO that healthcare shall ensure that people receive comprehensive care which ranges from promotion and prevention to treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care.

Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights set forth by the United Nations (UN) even states that everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing, and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age, or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.

However, even though healthcare was enshrined by such international bodies, the reality tells otherwise. In a study conducted by World Bank and WHO, it was found out that at least half of the whole world cannot obtain essential health services. In fact, only a small number of the population has access to advanced medical care, even among those living in developed countries.

Having said this, reshaping healthcare is a must to ensure that equal opportunities for all shall really be provided — to reach even the unreachable. This is where Pulse Network comes in.

Challenging the Situation

Pulse Network is a reliable medical data repository and sharing platform, building the infrastructure for state-of-the-art, AI-enabled diagnostic and treatment capabilities for people everywhere, unconstrained by the limitations of the medical facilities of their locality.

The project aims to secure a better quality of healthcare and ensure that advanced medical care shall be delivered to every single person through state-of-the-art, AI-enabled diagnostic, and treatment capabilities.

JPMedsn, the business behind Pulse, had been around since 2012, bringing innovation towards medical care. They intend to make advanced medical care equally available to people around the world using their two (2) main products: The Pulse Records (EMR) and the Pulse Pocket (Personal):

Pulse Records (EMR) — through the EMR platform, medical practitioners are provided with data of well-researched information on up-to-date diagnostics, treatment guidelines, recommended guidelines, and the latest drug information. · EMR also uses patented data which cuts the time needed by doctors in making entries of patient records. Piles of folders and papers are now within one platform offering more time to be spent on the actual examination, diagnosis, and treatment.

Say goodbye to the endless piles of papers!

Pulse Pocket (Personal) — An application that acts as an individual’s own health tracker organizing personal data, lifestyle data, and clinical records. The data gathered in the app is solely within the control of the patient itself. · For instance, one may transfer his/her medical records upon visiting a new doctor which makes sessions time-efficient providing more focus on the problem at hand.

Healthcare at your fingertips!

Such innovations challenge the system and provide for a more reliable and efficient process. What is more thrilling is that with its integration into the Polkadot blockchain, data stored by the project becomes immutable, secure, transparent, and authentic.

Pulse has more in store that will truly reshape the way healthcare is done around the world — from its real-world use cases to its AI-enabled capabilities. Advanced medical care within reach — anytime, anywhere, for everyone.
